But when I open a DB, select a variable which is also used in my program and the HMI, I can't see where is used my variable in the HMI. Do I have to activate an option in the software to solve the problem, or I can't do nothing about it? BR |
Commercial building where TIA-568.1-D applies, Distributor C represents the main cross-connect (MC), Distributor B represents the intermediate cross-connect (IC), Distributor A represents the horizontal cross-connect (HC), and the equipment outlet (EO) represents the telecommunications outlet and connector. EO Equipment outlet DA Distributor A. May 13, 2012 There is a nice feature in TIA portal and that is the Cross reference tab under the Info tab which quickly brings up cross references of the addressed logical elements you have selected on the page. This is fast enough for me. Except that you need reference there on the current page to access it.

There is an arrow in your DB to expand it. If you expand it, the parts of the DB tags used should appear depending on how you arrived at the cross ref tool. If you right click on the DB and select cross references, that may help you find what you seek more quickly. |

I think I misspoke : when I select cross ref on a variable from a DB, I only see where the variable is used in my program. I would like to see also where the variable is used in the HMI (from the same cross ref page) I know it's possible to do that with a %M, I did it (cf the printscreen attached) , but with a variable from a DB it doesn't work.. |

Posts: 5225 Rating: (1045) | Thank you for showing me something I did not know: Cross referencing M-flags in WinCC also showing you usage for Step7 inside TIA. I normally avoid using M-flags usage in the HMI. My findings were the same as yours on the DB related case. BUT what it the HMI link was not symbolic but absolute (address)? Maybe try that scenario. w |

But due to performance reasons, this was changed since V12. Now you can only see the access from program blocks if you select a DB element. To see the access from HMI, you have to start the cross reference for the complete DB. |
